Happy Valentine’s Day fellow submarine spouses! This holiday can be hard if your loved one is gone.
If you are lucky enough to have your submariner home, here are some ideas for a romantic night out in Washington:
Poulsbo, Sogno di Vino
Our absolute favorite date night location while we were in Washington was in Poulsbo. Start your night with dinner at Sogno di Vino, the best Italian food in the area. Making a reservation is crucial as they are usually very busy. Our favorite foods on the menu are the Diavola pizza and for dessert the Trifecta Creme Brulee. Then for the 21 and older group, they have the best lemon drops around!
Gig Harbor, Millville Pizza Co.
Another great date night destination is Gig Harbor! Gig Harbor has a unique experience as it is an area where you can find some very good local restaurants as well as some big yachts. Dinner at Millville Pizza Co. is a must after walking through the marina. They have some of the best artichoke dip in the area as well as some extra tasty woodfired pizzas.
Tacoma, Texas Roadhouse
If you are up for traveling and looking for an American classic located on Joint Base
Lewis-Mcchord is Texas Roadhouse. This is the only Texas Roadhouse in a four-hour radius of Bangor and Bremerton. Texas Roadhouse is an American classic that is perfect for Valentine’s Day. Don’t get too stuffed on those special rolls!
Bremerton, Anthony’s at Sinclair Inlet
Not wanting to travel too far? Bremerton gives you a downtown feel that is only 15
minutes from Bangor. Start with dinner at Anthony’s at Sinclair Inlet followed by ice cream from Scoops and Bites. For dinner, our favorites are the crispy calamari and Dungeness crab cakes. Our favorites from Scoops and Bites are lemon lavender (seasonal) and pistachio.
Silverdale, The Oak Table Cafe
Looking for brunch instead of dinner? Check out the Oak Table! The Oak Table is only 7
minutes from the Bangor base and has a beautiful view of Silverdale and Dyes Inlet. Our favorite beverages from here are their mimosa or a caramel latte. For our meal, we love their classic pancakes or an omelet! For additional favorites, I want to point out that they have the best breakfast sausage in the area as well as their berries and cream are a classic.
