Considering it is July and COVID-19 has been around a bit longer than we had hoped, I am sure that many of you have become professionals when it comes to planning date nights and outings while still abiding by the rules and regulations put in place by your local government and military installations.
For those that are still having trouble, here are a few fun ideas for the Guam area:
Enjoy a day of snorkeling or head out for a boat dive

The boat schedule varies, but they have a daily boat every day (hence the name) at 8:30am. They also have multiple boats on the weekends with showtimes around 8:30am and 1:30pm. My husband and I usually pack a small cooler with a few beers and some snacks to enjoy on the boat ride back to the marina once our dives are complete.
Take a drive around the south loop of the island

Take Cross Island Road (Route 17) to Route 4. Turn right on Route 4 and enjoy the scenic views. If it’s Wednesday or Sunday, be sure to stop at the Songge Guam Pizza food truck across from Talofofo Bay for the perfect dinner to-go. Stop at the Inarajan Natural Pools as well as Merizo to have your picture taken in front of the large red heart, which has become a local attraction. Be sure to make it to the Cetti Bay Overlook in time to enjoy the sunset.
Stay in for a game night

What better time than now to play the game Pandemic? This is a family favorite for us and is very fitting with the times. For more game ideas check out this post from fellow spouse Amanda G.
Grab sushi and a sunset

Head to Oki-zushi at the NEX food court and pick up your favorite sushi rolls. Grab a bottle of Cupcake Sauvignon Blanc, or two, and head to the beach to enjoy a picnic and catch the sunset. We usually pack a blanket and a small Bluetooth speaker to set the mood. Before the pandemic we would make this a regular date night and it is one of my favorite ways to spend time with my husband.
Enjoy a staycation at a local hotel pool

Depending on your spouses’ commands’ rules and regulations, enjoy a staycation at a local hotel or a day by one of the hotel pools. For those that are members of PHR (Premier Hotel & Restaurants) Club, you can utilize your hotel or pool passes. If you do not have PHR you can still enjoy the amenities by reserving a room or purchasing a pool pass. Our go-to hotel is The Hyatt Regency. The pool is great, the service is awesome, the rooms are comfortable and the views are incredible. The new Tsubaki Tower just opened and the island has yet to reopen to tourists. This would be a great time to safely enjoy the amenities offered.
