Halloween in Hampton Roads

With Halloween just around the corner (18 days), make sure you embrace the spooky season and explore local events at your duty station! If you’re stationed in Norfolk, there’s plenty of scary fun happening throughout Hampton Roads.

Here’s four events we have our eyes on:

Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens

Sept. 10th-Oct. 31st

This fan favorite is a Halloween delight for spooky season fans. With several new attractions such as haunted houses and terror-tories, this makes for a night of screams never to be forgotten. Grab a drink or hop on a roller coaster because this event has something for every thrill seeker. **WARNING: Parental discretion is advised after 6:00 PM, as this year’s event contains amplified scares that are not recommended for children.

Attention Parents: Celebrate silly, not-too-spooky family fun with all your favorite furry friends at The Count’s Spooktacular. Children can join in a costume party, satisfy their sweet tooth with free trick-or-treating and more. The Count’s Spooktacular and all other kids’ attractions close at 5 p.m. as we prepare for Howl-O-Scream.

Haunted Hunt Club Farms

September-October

Located in Virginia Beach, Haunted Hunt Club Farms is one of the most anticipated events of the season. Hop on the haunted hay ride or walk through the village of the dead in this spooktacular event. They also have a Harvest Festival where you can get pumpkins for carving, mums for admiring, and hay bales to climb on. Ticket prices vary and they do offer group rates, as well as a military discount.

Ghost Tours of Williamsburg

Performed in a true story telling format, this 90 min walking tour is great fun for all ages and has something for your entire family to enjoy.
