As I have said before, if you ask a Connecticuter how they deal with the seemingly endless winters they will tell you that summer is worth the wait. My perfect CT summer day includes a morning park or beach walk followed by a wine tasting at one of the many local vineyards. Check out the CT wine trail for a full list of wineries and vineyards in the area.
Here are my favorites:

This vineyard, located in Stonington, boasts a large tasting room offering indoor and outdoor seating. The tasting room and indoor seating area is a beautifully restored WWII era airplane hangar. Due to COVID, tastings are temporarily suspended however you can enjoy a glass or bottle of your favorite wine. The farm is an exclusive wedding venue- the scenery is breathtaking. Currently, they are operating on a first come, first serve basis. On a warm summer day you’ll find me sipping either the 2019 Runway White or 2018 Cabernet Rose.

Stonington’s growing conditions are often compared to those of Bordeaux. This beautiful, expansive vineyard offers a scenic tasting experience. Due to COVID, they are limiting occupancy to half capacity and request that you limit your visit time to 2 hours. If you see me strolling through the fields I’ll likely have a glass of the Seaport White or Triad Rose.

Nestled in North Stonington, this vineyard looks like it belongs in Temecula or the Napa region. Here you will find some unique wines not found at other CT vineyards. I prefer to sit on their patio, take in the scenery and enjoy a glass of either the 2019 Gewurztraminer or 2018 Chenin Blanc. Currently their tasting room is open to glass or bottle consumption only (no tastings) and their outdoor seating is limited to half capacity.
I’d love to hear about your favorite vineyards/wineries!
