6 Halloween Events Near Bangor

Happy October! As we head into spooky season, we rounded up some great event ideas to inspire the season in and around Kitsap County. From pumpkin painting to haunted hayrides, there’s a little something for everyone:

MWR Pumpkin Painting

Stop by the Bremerton Recreation Center and join the MWR as they paint pumpkins for Halloween. All supplies provided. If you have any questions, please call (360) 476-3178.

MWR Monster Splash Pool Party

Bring your little monsters to the pool for a fun, free Halloween Splash! Trick-or-Treat stations will also be set up for kids to collect candy as they leave. Halloween Spooky Hayrides & Glass Float Scavenger Hunt

Head over to Navy Getaways at Pacific Beach for a free, festive weekend! Two back-to-back Saturdays include spooky hayrides and a glass float scavenger hunt. Take advantage of their off-peak hotel rates, as low as $50/night. Call (360) 276-4414 ext. 2 to make your reservations!

Bainbridge Island Haunted Hayride

Head over to Battlepoint Park on Bainbridge Island for the ultimate haunted hayride! From the comfort of your own car, enjoy all the spirit and spook of the Haunted Hayride with illuminated jack-o-lanterns, performances and displays. Reservations are required, $25 per vehicle.

Bloedel Reserve Super Squash Scavenger Hunt

Beginning today, October 5th, Bainbridge Island’s beloved Bloedel Reserve returns with their Squash Scavenger Hunt! How many squash and pumpkins can you spot? The answer is hundreds! Upon arrival, pick up a Super Squash Scavenger Hunt map at the start of the trail (or use this link to download a digital copy). The map highlights where to find the various squash and pumpkins and fun gives fun questions and prompts to answer along the way. Be sure to bring a pen or pencil to write down your answer!

The event is free with admission to the reserve, $15 for adults with military ID, $10 for children ages 13-18, $5 for children 5-12 and free for children 4 and under.

Zoo Boo at Point Defiance Zoo

Bring the kids down to the zoo for a fun, fall-themed weekend as the animals experience special pumpkin enrichments! Suki the elephant stomps giant pumpkins, animals get fall treats, games and a costume parade! The event is free with admission to the zoo (ages 13 and up $20, children ages 3-12 $15, infants 2 and under free). All tickets must be booked online in advance.
