In recent years podcasts have exploded. Podcast listeners have increased 10% year-over-year to more than 117 million. And in this year it’s estimated more than 60% of US adults ages 18 to 34 will listen to podcasts monthly.
Even as an avid podcaster myself, it didn’t occur to me until recently to check out military spouse themed podcasts. And there are so many! The Submerged Life was recently were invited on a podcast (more on that below), which led me to research more out there. It’s amazing to see the variety of podcasts, breadth of topics and unique backgrounds these military spouses have.
If you like to listen to podcasts, consider adding any of these to your repertoire:
Milspouse Matters

Jen McDonald has created a wonderful outlet for military spouses of all ages, branches and stages of life. In “Milspouse Matters,” she highlights relatable topics from how to survive your first deployment to how to raise kids in the military. Jen recently invited The Submerged Life on to talk about submarine life. You can check out that episode here.
Confessions of a Military Spouse

While it hasn’t been updated since last year, “Confessions of a MIlitary Spouse” follows Jenna and Candace, two military spouses and how they navigate this life. They tackle all the topics, from burnout and “embracing the suck” to self care and deployments. The podcast is only available on Apple Podcasts.
The American Milspouse
