There are some new playgrounds in Yulee and on Amelia Island! If you are looking for some updated play equipment and a nice area to spend an afternoon, below is some information regarding a new playground at Nassau Crossing and the updated playground at Central Park.

Nassau Crossing Playground

This new park area opened in November of 2022. It is located off William Burgess Blvd. To locate the park, you can put 77480 William Burgess Blvd into your GPS-however, it will take you past the park. This new park has 2.5 miles of trails, two large play areas, open green space, a train caboose, restrooms and outdoor fitness stations. The new playgrounds are gated and fully enclosed. One side of the playground is for younger children. The park plans to expand to include multiuse fields, nature outlooks and a dog park.

Central Park Amelia Island

The large play structure at Central Park was removed a little over one year ago, due to safety and upkeep concerns. On February 5, 2023, the new “Teddy Bear Playground” was dedicated in the honor of the late David Berkman, who used to give Teddy Bears out to children around town. Berkman’s widow donated a substantial amount of money to help re-build the park. The new playground equipment has large slides and climbing structures. They also have swings and other smaller climbing structures present as well. The park is located at 1200 Atlantic Ave, Fernandina Beach, FL.
