A Few of Our Favorite Things From The Dolphin Store in Pearl Harbor

Tucked away on the Sub Base side of Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, the Dolphin Store is your one -stop-shop for submarine gifts and home decor. During the holidays it is the perfect place to pick up an ornament or a gift for family members who have boat pride.

The Dolphin Store Hawaii is a standing committee of the Pearl Harbor Submarine Officers Spouses Association. It is a non-profit organization run 100% by volunteers. However, not all of our volunteers are members of PHSOSA. Any dependent, spouse, child, or parent of a submariner is eligible to volunteer their time at the store.

The main goal is to raise funds to help support military dependents in their educational goals. Primarily donating to the Dolphin Scholarship Foundation, a 501©(3). For those of you unfamiliar with DSF their mission is: “To ease the financial burden of undergraduate and vocational education for eligible members of the U.S. Submarine Force and their dependents.” The DSF was established in 1960, giving out their first scholarship in the amount of $350. Today DSF sponsors 115 students who receive an annual scholarship of either $1500, $2100, or $3500, potentially receiving a total of $14,000 in up to eight semesters of undergraduate study. To date, DSF has awarded over $13,500,000 to more than 1400 students.

The Dolphin Store, Hawaii prides itself on providing an outlet for active duty military and dependents to showcase their talents and sell their handmade items. Have an idea of a gift but can seem it find it in the store some vendors can accommodate special orders.
