If the thought of preparing a full-blown Thanksgiving meal in 90 degree heat (without your 20 or so cousins) doesn’t sound exactly cozy, we’ve got some ideas for you! If you live near Pearl Harbor, there is a benefit of being stationed someplace touristy. There are many restaurants on Oahu that remain open during the holidays.
Here’s a handful of Thanksgiving meal options on Oahu:
Hale Ikena Banquet & Conference Center
The Hale Ikena Banquet & Conference Center: Thanksgiving to Go is a great option for a traditional Thanksgiving with no need to warm up your oven. The Hale Ikena is offering a full meal for five to be picked up on Thanksgiving. They will provide the turkey, hawaiian sweet rolls, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce and of course the pumpkin pie for $99.99. All you’ll need to do is dust off your lanai table and your Thanksgiving is done for you!
Schofield Barracks & Wheeler Army Airfield
Another Oahu option is to dine with other military families! If you can’t be with your family, dine alongside people who totally get it. Dining facilities, or DFACs, on Schofield Barracks, Tripler Army Medical Center and Wheeler Army Airfield will feature a special Thanksgiving menu for diners on Tuesday, Nov. 26 and Wednesday, Nov. 27. Meal cardholders must show their meal card and ID card. Prices for family members of service members ranked private (E1) through specialist (E4) are $6.80.
